Accommodation

Every room has its own bathroom

It's probably the first thing you want to know, and the answer is yes, one for every room. Most of the rooms are in the same building as the dining room and the main room.

A made-up room with dark wooden bunk beds. White sheets, blue velvet cushions, a small side table with a lamp lit and green curtains at a window looking onto leaves.
One of the rooms, made up.
Room with a double bed against a tall headboard of rough, unplaned timber, dark wooden floor, olive-green curtains and a glass dome light on the ceiling.

Double room

The bed is at normal height, against a headboard of rough timber, and seventeen of the rooms have a double.

White-tiled shower room with an overhead shower, a toilet, a washbasin with a cupboard beneath and a towel rail.

The bathroom

There's an overhead shower, and the walls are tiled floor to ceiling.

The nights here are darker and quieter than most of us are used to. In the morning it's the light through the curtain that wakes you, and nothing else.

The house around the rooms

Most people stay where the course is held

The main building, from the 1960s, is low and long, built on one level with a lower ground floor beneath. The rooms are on the upper floor and the kitchen on the lower, so there's a flight of stairs between them. You can reach the smaller dining room without going outside. The same goes for the big dining room, though there's also a path round the house if you'd rather.

The long side of the house faces the meadow.

Daffodils in front of the black-painted main building, with the row of windows to the rooms behind.
The rooms are behind these windows.
