Getting here
The train goes to Gnesta, the bus to Stjärnhov
An island probably sounds like somewhere you'd need a boat to reach, but there's a bridge. The train goes to Gnesta, the bus to Stjärnhov, and the organiser usually arranges a lift for the last stretch.
By train and bus
Three steps from Stockholm Central Station
- Train to Gnesta or Flen. From Stockholm there are direct SJ trains to Gnesta, or the suburban train via Södertälje Hamn. If you're coming from the south or the west, take the train to Flen instead. Coming from Norway, the Oslo train stops at Katrineholm, and from there trains run to Flen.
- Bus 589 to Stjärnhov. The route runs the whole way between Flen and Gnesta, with Stjärnhov roughly halfway. It's the same bus whichever direction you come from, and you get off at the stop called Stjärnhov. The timetable is available from Sörmlandstrafiken, the regional public transport operator.
- A lift for the last stretch. The stop where you get off is a couple of kilometres from the course centre. Whoever is running the course usually arranges a lift from there. Check beforehand.
If you're flying in, you can take the train south via Stockholm Central Station.
By car

- After the centre the road bends to the right, and then there's a sign for Aspö where you turn left onto the gravel road.
